Real-time monitoring and dosimetry
The SpectraCure PDT System with IDOSE® allows pretreatment planning including optimal optical fibre positioning and optimal light dose calculation. During PDT, IDOSE® also performs real-time adjustments to the dosimetry plan covering the different parts of the target tissue to ensure that the entire tumour is treated while sparing the surrounding organs at risk.
It is also essential in PDT to deliver sufficient light dose in order to activate
the photosensitizser throughout the target tissue while minimising the dose
to proximal normal structures. With precise PDT dosimetry, it is possible to essentially destroy all target tissue within the organ with few complications.
With the SpectraCure PDT System with IDOSE®, the risk of treatment failures due to inter- or intra-patient variations is significantly reduced.
