SpectraCure has applied to the British Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to co-sponsor a clinical study on pancreatic cancer in the UK. On the February 15th MHRA approved the notification. 

SpectraCure has submitted an IND application to Food and Drug Administration and CTA to Health Canada to get regulatory approval of the planned I/II clinical studies.

SpectraCure stands before a very hectic and interesting future. The board has decided to raise new capital to fund future planned activities.

SpectraCure is entering an important phase on its way to the market. The management team has been reorganized to maximize the utilization of each person’s skill set up. Jens Nilsen is appointed as the company’s new CEO from December 1st. Mr Nilsen says, “SpectraCure is entering a very exciting period with clinical studies both in North America and Europe which requires a strong focus”. Former CEO Masoud Khayyami will stay on as Chairman of the board and as such focus on steering a competent and active board going forward.

SpectraCure reorganizes and appoints Maria Göth to Director of Business development. She has been working with the company for the last two years in different positions. SpectraCure is also looking to recruit a director of clinical trials with a start in Q1 2012. 

SpectraCure is pleased to announce that the protocol for the clinical study for recurrent prostate cancer has been signed by both chosen clinics; Princess Margret in Toronto, Canada and Penn University in Pennsylvania, USA. The IND application is to be filed with the FDA shortly.

B&H Consulting Services Inc. in USA is engaged to assist SpectraCure in the regulatory process with the Food and Drug Administration in USA.

Besides being PR Head of Operations, Maria Göth is also appointed member of the Board. Maria Göth, (BA and LLM), has worked as a journalist/writer in both Sweden and the UK. She has a deep understanding of and a large network of contacts within the Swedish media market. Having spent nearly 8 years in the UK she has built up an understanding of international business and how this translates into PR requirements in the Nordic countries.

Jens Nilsen has long experience within the telecommunication industry and has set up and run several businesses. Jens Nilsen brings much needed capital and takes a position on the Board of Directors. In order for SpectraCure to speedily reach the market, Jens Nilsen's main responsibilities is to support SpectraCure's operations and also to actively work towards strengthening the company's global network.
